Rav Itzchak Evan-Shayish

Rabbi Itzchak Even-Shayish (Marmorstein) is a passionate student of the teachings of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook (1865- 1935). He is doing pioneering work in bringing Rav Kook to the public through classes, writings and creative musical and dramatic presentations in Israel and all over the world. He is the gabbai at Beit HaRav Kook Synagogue in Jerusalem. He is also the Chairman of Ohr LeRayah-a Jerusalem based organization devoted to introducing and sharing Rav Kook’s universal and enlightened teachings with the world. He is a musmach of Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg Z:L, Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach Z’L and Rabbi Zalman Schacter-Shalomi Z”L. His website dedicated to Rav Kook’s enlightened teachings is www.haorot.com.

Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook TZ’L (1865- 1935) is considered by many to be the preeminent teacher of the Torah’s full illumination for our epoch.

Our session will present the foundational roots of his teachings and the soaring wings of his vision. We will do this through learning selections of his extraordinary illuminated writings and poetry.
