Choni is a uniquely talented singing star. A diverse range of musical styles complements his smooth and soulful voice. His relaxed and comfortable stage presence infuses all his musical appearances whether on the Bimah or on stage. (or today in his dining room) Born in Johannesburg, Choni grew up in the Sydenham Shul, famous for its choral music, and from an early age developed a love for music. By age 11, he appeared in concert with many singers including Chassidic pop star Mordechai Ben David. He has served as Choirmaster & Cantor in countless prominent synagogues across the globe. Currently, he is resident Cantor of The Great Synagogue in Cape Town (Gardens Shul) Choni was crowned winner of the International ‘Jewish Star’ Singing Competition in New York in March 2012. He has since performed all over the world from LA to London, Sydney to Venice and is a sought after wedding singer. He completed his debut album ‘5780’ to rave reviews.
