Session TitleSpiritual Motherhood: What Torah and Chassidus Can Teach Us About Being Mothers and Supporting Mothers

Allegra Simcha Tzipporah is a mother, college educator, writer, postpartum doula and advocate of mothers. She believes that a happy Mama best nurtures a happy baby. As such, her work focuses on supporting mothers in mind, body and soul so that they feel grounded, joyful, and connected. She is also interested in how community expectations and support impact a smooth entrance into mother. Through this holistic support, her ultimate goal is to help mothers build trust in themselves and advocate for themselves. Finally, she wrote about what Torah and Chassidus help us understand about motherhood. She offers postpartum clients emotional support, individualized nutritional advice, self and infant care guidance, as well as important insights into how Jewish ritual, tradition and wisdom can help ground and enrich the postpartum period. Community-based Rosh Chodesh Mothers Gatherings are an additional element of her work. She studies Birth Torah and collaborates with other Jewish birthworkers, and teaches about the Jewish calendar.
